👨‍💼Managers

Unlock the next phase of onchain access with Managerial access using pod-like permissions.

Managers can be both Externally Owned Accounts (EOAs) and Smart Contracts.

Managers of Organizations and Badges play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the Members, Badges, and Hooks associated with your Organization.

From issuing Badges to updating the details of a Badge, Managers provide operational efficiency to an Organization while living with a clearly-defined area of impact, control, and oversight.

In Badger, there are two different types of Managers:

  2. Badge Managers

Operating with a different set of permissions, the multi-pronged system enables a plug-and-play system to power the future of your Organization by enabling the use of your network.

Organization Managers

At the highest level of permissions, Organization Managers have nearly identical permissions to the Owner of the Organization, excluding a few administrate actions such as archiving the Organization.

As a multi-pronged Organization, it is important to have the ability to manage other Managers with ease. Badger makes it simple to add, remove, and adjust permissions for Managers within your Organization or Badge.

With Badger's intuitive Manager management system, you can easily ensure that your Organization or Badge is in good hands.

Adding new Managers

🛑 Permissions required: Owner or Organization Manager.

Adding new Managers can be helpful in situations where you need to delegate certain tasks or responsibilities to specific individuals within your organization.

For example, you may want to add a new Badge Manager to help manage the issuing and revoking of badges representing participation in a specific education course, hackathon or project.

With granular needs like those in onchain Organizations, permissions are defined in a middle-out fashion allowing every Organization to fit the controls to the situation.

Removing Managers

🛑 Permissions required: Owner or Organization Manager.

There may come a time when you need to remove a Manager's access to your organization or badge. Perhaps they've completed their task or are no longer part of your team.

Whatever the reason, removing Manager's access is a straightforward process.

To remove a Manager:

It's important to note that removing a Manager does not revoke the badges issued by or to that Manager. You'll need to take separate steps to revoke any badges you do not want in circulation.
